Two artists who's works include photo collages include Masumi Hayashi and David Hockney. Hayashi's works are very organized with high contrast and vivid blues. The various photos are put together very cleanly. On the contrary, Hockney's works are quite unorganized, with gaps between the individual photos and the photos overlapping. However, they are similar because they include images of outdoor scenes with messages. The artist's work that I like better is Hayashi's, because it is more vivid, organized, and has stronger messages. I chose these two photos because they are great examples of what each artist's work is all about.

Installation art is art that transforms a space into something else. It is 4-dimentional, and interactive. It differs from paintings, photographs and sculptures because of the fact that viewers are able to interact with them. The purpose of installation art is to entertain people, and also send a message. The following are two examples of installation art. I enjoy these pieces because they are visually appealing and send messages.
Motion blur is the streaking appearance of a moving object in photography. Motion blur is used when taking a photo of a moving object, such as a biker, a train, or a car. In order to create motion blur successfully, you need to use ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and panning. Some successes in capturing motion blur were getting intense streaking, while challenges were successfully capturing one object in clarity. In order to improve my motion blur technique, I will practice panning.
Light photography is a type of photography that features a story told with the use of light. It is typically created in a dark environment with a low ISO and slow shutter speed, in order to capture the shapes created by the light. My favorite light painting photographer is Dana Maltby, also known as Twin Cities Brightest. I favor his work because of his wide range of colors, designs, and his stunning use of symmetry.
Ansel Adams is a photographer and environmentalist. He is well known for his landscape and nature photographs taken, primarily in black and white. His work features a great deal of contrast and value, as well as a great understanding of filling the frame and leading lines. He teaches us that light is a very important part of photography, as it gives the photo depth and meaning.
Elliott Erwin is a street photographer, most known for his humorous photos and his eye for humanity. He works in a street photography style because he believes in noticing human nature and wished to share it. He works primarily in black and white, using much contrast and value. His work portrays a strong understanding of depth of field and lighting. He is my favorite street photographer because he shares the humorous side of humans, while also portraying how intricate we are.
Photo Documentary and Street Photography often get confused as being the same thing, but they are actually quite different. Photo Documentary is a body of work that tells a story around a specific event, while Street Photography is defined as random photographs meant to capture candid moments in time. They are similar, as they both involve the photographer capturing a moment in time. However, they are different, as Photo Documentaries are multiple photos that capture a very specific event, while Street Photography is only individual shots, not taken about a specific event.
Steve McCurry and Mario Testino are some of the biggest names in portrait photography. McCurry is well known for capturing the cultures of many people by using simple backgrounds, vivid colors, and by focusing on the eyes on the subject. Testino is known for his portraits of celebrities and capturing their personalities by using relatively the same approaches as McCurry. Their work is similar in that they are very simple portraits, but tell incredible stories, as the eyes are their main focus. However, they are different, as Testino works in black and white as well as color while McCurry focuses heavily on color. McCurry's photos tend to tell more about cultures and how his subjects live, while Testino's photos tell more about the personality of the figure. I prefer the work of McCurry, as I love how real the portrayals of his subjects are.
Daniel Picard is a graphic designer and photographer, most known for his photos involving iconic figures of pop culture. He takes figures of various comic book characters, Star Wars characters and makes them come to life. He uses quite a few rules of composition, such as the rule of thirds and leading lines, which make his photos visually appealing and interesting. I chose to study Daniel Picard instead of Hot Kenobi, another fantasy photographer, because of Picard's more realistic portrayals of his characters. I chose these two photos of Picard's work to share becasue they show great creativity and they tell stories.
